The Nissan Heisman House

The Nissan Heisman House is open for its 13th season.  The residence hosts Heisman Trophy winners, returning with lots of experiences created to connect passionate college football fans and their favorite players.

What is the Heisman Trophy?

The Heisman Trophy falls under the Heisman Trophy Trust.  The annual award is presented to the outstanding college football player in the United States.  The winner’s “performance epitomizes great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.”

The Heisman Trophy is the most prestigious college football award given to the most exceptional player in the country every year.  Recipients of the trophy embody remarkable talent along with dedication, resilience and tireless effort.  The Trust awards the trophy in early December, prior to the postseason football bowl games.

The Trust has a mission to support amateur athletics and fund youth development programs in underserved communities across the nation.  It also recognizes community-minded high school scholar athletes with its Heisman high school scholarship program.  “Our goal is to harness the power of the Heisman Trophy’s legacy of athletic excellence to positively impact our nation’s youth and provide more equitable opportunities for underserved communities.”

The Heisman Humanitarian Award, created to further the mission of the Heisman Trophy, is awarded to individuals in the sports world who are providing opportunities to those less fortunate.  Recipients exemplify a spirit of giving to others, commitment to youth development and empowerment through sports.

Some Facts About the Nissan Heisman House

The Nissan Heisman House is located in Nashville, TN.  It was built in 1935 and sits on 1.32 acres. The residence features dozens of dorm-style bunk rooms.  It houses five generations of Heisman winners plus mascots.  Inside you will find an on-site training facility equipped with the best equipment for the athletes.  A one-of-a-kind trophy room showcases the only complete collection of Heisman Trophies.

Outside, see custom Heisman topiaries.  And get this…an 87-car garage.  Inside the garage, you will find one of each vehicle in the Nissan lineup.

What’s New this Year

A brand new campaign is here this year with reality show treatment.  It features television spots, an influencer and a collaboration with Zillow.

Some captivating video spots within this campaign will showcase the Frontier, Rogue, Sentra, the upcoming 2024 Z NISMO and the all-electric Ariya SUV. These vehicles promise to bring plenty of thrills.  Check them out:

The Nissan Heisman House | Live Like a Heisman

But it doesn’t stop there.  Fans of the Heisman House will get exclusive views inside the mansion, offering glimpses of the action behind the scenes when the cameras aren’t rolling. Some of the TV spots within the campaign feature familiar faces like Charles Woodson, pondering the uniqueness of his Michigan Wolverines, one of the few college football teams without a mascot. Meanwhile, Bryce Young explores why Barry Sanders opts for a laundromat instead of doing his laundry in the House.

Adding to the excitement, Nissan has partnered with Caleb Simpson, a popular influencer on TikTok and Instagram known for touring real people’s homes and apartments. He’ll be your guide through the Heisman House, with occasional appearances from Heisman winners and mascots.

And there’s more. You may know Zillow as a prominent real estate website, offering customers a glimpse into for-sale and rental listings. In an exciting twist, Nissan has teamed up with Zillow to list the Heisman House.  You can take a tour and browse photos and videos.

The Nissan Heisman House Coming to a Football Game Near You

Want to see the trophy for yourself?  Meet some legends?  Strike a pose?  Then you are in luck.  The Nissan Heisman House Tour is set to journey to various college campuses nationwide at some of the most anticipated college football games of the season.  The tour offers enthusiasts the opportunity to explore the House, take memorable photos with the Heisman Trophy, engage with college football icons and immerse themselves in the gameday atmosphere akin to that of a Heisman champion.

Voting for the Heisman Trophy

There are three categories of eligible voters in determining the winner of the Heisman Trophy.

Sports Journalists: Chosen due to their informed, competent and impartial perspectives, sports journalists play a pivotal role in deciding the award recipient.  Six people are chosen based sectional regions.  Each section has 145 votes for a total of 870 media votes.

Previous Heisman Trophy Winners: There are currently 57 former winners who are eligible to cast their votes.  In situations where an underclassman wins the award and remains in school to play, they are eligible to vote.  In this case, a prior winner may also be a current candidate.

The Fans: Nissan, as the Premier Partner of the Heisman Trophy, grants a vote to fans. Fan voting is conducted through a survey link hosted on NissanHeismanHouse.com and this fan vote constitutes one Heisman vote in the selection process.

A Bit of Wendle Nissan Heisman History in Spokane WA

Back in October of 2015, Wendle Nissan had the honor of hosting the Heisman Trophy.  The trophy also made a side trip to Whitworth University, right here in Spokane at the Whitworth University Pirates homecoming football game.  Fans got to see the trophy up close and personal, touching, posing and receiving a snapshot of the memorable event.
