How To Use Nissan High Beam Assist
Nissan is always thinking of ways to improve your driving experience. Now you can drive in the dark with one less to-do on your mind. Let us tell you all about the High Beam Assist system. If equipped, it is ready to keep you and others on the road safe.
What Is Nissan High Beam Assist
High Beam Assist (HBA) is a technology featured in Nissan Safety Shield 360. The system will automatically switch the high beam lights to low beam when a vehicle is coming or a vehicle ahead is detected. The system will return the lights to high beam when needed. HBA works at night, in a tunnel and at approximately 25 mph. When there is no oncoming vehicle or no other vehicle ahead, high beam will automatically activate.
How To Use The High Beam Assist
To activate HBA, switch the headlights to AUTO. After engaging and depending on your model, you will push the lever or press the button at the end of the lever. If you have a lever, push it forward, away from you. If you have the button, press it. You will know the HBA is activated when you see the high beam assist indicator light illuminated on the instrument panel. Move the switch back to its normal position, towards you, to deactivate the High Beam Assist. Or press the button to deactivate. The indicator light will turn off.
Where Is The High Beam Assist Sensor Located
The ambient light sensor used by the HBA is located in front of the inside rearview mirror. Be sure to keep the windshield clean and do not place stickers or accessories near the sensor.
Don’t you love Nissan’s High Beam Assist? It’s important when driving in the dark that you use the high beam headlights to see as much as you can with maximum visibility. It’s also important to not blind oncoming traffic with the high beams. Now you can set it and forget it. Plus, it’s easy to do. If you have any questions about HBA or any of the features in Nissan Safety Shield 360, please give us a call or contact us online.
